Spring Thaw 2011 was held for the first time in the Art Space on 4thStreet, with the exhibition open to the public for over week and concluding during Mayfest. The move proved to be successful with over 360 entries from Huntingdon County students in grades kindergarten through 12th. “We have reason to be proud of our young artists”, says Director Ilona Ballreich about the recent show. “We added several categories, including photography, fabric art and print making due to the outstanding entries received”. The show ‘spilled over’ into the Huntingdon County Library, another promising partnership along 4th Street.

The arts council is currently considering youth classes during the summer months and another youth show may be on the horizon. But even without a new event, youth and adults will have an opportunity to exhibit at the Huntingdon County Fair in August.
