The HCAC will have a decorated Christmas tree on display at the Huntingdon County Historical Society Gallery in Huntingdon, open Friday December 3 through Sunday December 5. The Arts Council tree will feature paper ornaments created by HCAC board members, in the spirit of the Paper Trail, the HCAC public art initiative and the Standing Stone Garden Club’s theme for this year is “Yuletide Gardens.”
On Sunday, December 5, 2010, from 2 to 4 pm, you too can learn how to make selected paper ornaments. This year, Judy Hoffman will give instructions on how to create unique paper ball ornaments. Commemorate a special person or event using photos or old greeting cards, or create ornaments in a special color theme to match your holiday decor. The class will be held in The Art Space on 212 Fourth Street in Huntingdon. Participants are encouraged to bring cards or photos they wish to use, or they can chose from a variety of card stock available for the class. A cover charge of $5 applies.
Hours for the Festival of Trees display at the Historical Society are:
Friday, Dec. 3, 11 am—8 pm
Saturday, Dec. 4, 10 am—7 pm
Sunday, Dec. 5, 1-4 pm
HCAC Tree ornaments can be purchased on Sunday after 4 pm.
