Enjoy the first Saturday in May in the Big Apple and support the Arts Council. A bus trip leaving at 6:30 am from Huntingdon to arrive around 11am in New York is scheduled for May 5. Drop off will be in Midtown Manhattan and the return trip will leave the City at 7 pm for arrival before midnight in Huntingdon. The cost is $50 per person. The Huntingdon County Arts Council is organizing a bus trip to New York City on Saturday, November 5th. The bus will leave Peebles Plaza (or Juniata College) at 6 am and will leave NYC around 7 pm for a midnight return to Huntingdon. Tickets are $45.

The Huntingdon County Arts Council is organizing a bus trip for New York City on Saturday, January 22. The Bus departs Huntingdon from Peebles Plaza at 6:30 am; estimated arrival 11:30 am, near Park Avenue/67th Street. Bus leaves at 7pm from drop-off location to return to Huntingdon.
The trip coincides with the Winter Antique Fair at the Park Avenue Armory in New York City, located within walking distance of the drop-off location. Tickets for the Antique Fair must be purchased separately; either online or at the door.

October 23 is the next opportunity for an urban recharge: aboard Yoder Tourways’ bus to New York City. The arts council has organized its second daylong trip to the city from Huntingdon following the success of an earlier trip. For only $45, a bus will take you from Huntingdon’s Peebles Plaza to the East River Art Center at 243 Grand Street where participants have the option of taking a walking tour of Chinatown with Lunch for an additional $40.
The tour will be led by the program director Julie Tay for the center, formerly known as the Wossing Center for Chinese. Following refreshments upon arrival, the walking tour will start in new Chinatown (Lower East Side) with lunch, included, at Chatham Square restaurant and will continued through Old Chinatown. Depending on weather and condition of the group, an optional detour to Little Italy’s oldest confectionary in NYC will be discussed at that time. The tour should be completed before 4 pm with some time left before the return trip home at 7 pm.
The walking tour is limited to 25 participants.
All others have free time during the day in New York. The drop off and pick up location is still conveniently located to museums and other attractions, and our guide will gladly advise on local transportation to specific destinations.
