The Huntingdon County Arts Council is recognizing February as Fiber Arts Month in Huntingdon with February’s 4th Friday event featuring a Hooked Rug Exhibition.  The exhibition opens Friday, February 25th at 6pm at The Art Space, downtown Huntingdon.  The following week will feature a Hooked Rug presentation/demonstration on Thursday, March 3rd.  Contact the Arts Council for details.

The Huntingdon County Arts Council is ushering in February as Fiber Arts Month in Huntingdon with help from the Aughwick’s Poets and Writers. On the 4th Friday, January 28, a public reading by the writers’ group with additional work presented by Juniata College poets and writers will open at 6:30 pm in the Art Space on 4th Street in Huntingdon. “Stringing Words Together” is the theme for this reading, and the public is invited to actively participate.

Various examples of Fiber Arts will be on display at the Art Space, curated by members of local fiber art guilds. The event is free of charge and refreshments will be served. Please call (814) 643-3524 for additional information.

The Fourth Friday Celebration this November experienced a terrific turnout for the opening reception of “Prodigal”, a show  by  three artists returning to Huntingdon. Greg Stahl, Staci Grimes and James States were present for the opening and works in photography, painting and pottery with the audience.

The show continues this week on Thursday and Friday, Dec 2, 3, from 3 pm  to  8 pm  and on Saturday from 3 pm to  7 pm.

The opening event for the Art Space on 4th Street and the inaugural Fourth Friday event brought residents, visitors and artists to historic downtown Huntingdon. Displays of  artists Elli Groninger, Diahann Mosier, Ann Tait, Steve and Jamie Isenberg, Season Dulack and Teri Smith invited to  admire and shop. Artists were on hand to answer questions and take orders.

The  show continues through Saturday, October 30.
