Arts council events are at the heart of our mission; they celebrate the arts, create community and present an opportunity to learn about art and expand personal art experiences.

Spring Thaw April
Spring Thaw is an annual Youth Art and Writing Exhibit held at an annually designated public school in the county.
The show will be judged by art professionals from the region and prizes will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners.

Photo Show
Board member and avid photographer James Pingry continues to organize shows dedicated to photography only, with changing guidelines as to color /black and white and/or digital photography.
Folk College
The HCAC is proud to host Folk College, a premier folk music event at Juniata College. The event welcomes folk musicians and folk music fans of all abilities and ages to participate in workshops and concerts over a three-day period.

Summer of... Concerts at Raystown Lake
For over 30 years the HCAC has hosted free summer concerts at the Raystown Lake Amphitheatre at Seven Points. Please check calendar for performers and dates.
Concerts are held on Friday evenings, starting usually at 7 pm unless otherwise posted. In case of inclement weather, the concerts will be moved inside the visitor center. Some seating is provided, otherwise bring a lawn chair or blanket to enjoy the show.

Huntingdon County Fair Art Show and Concerts
The HCAC organizes the Huntingdon County Fair Fine Arts exhibit, however registration material, guidelines and additional information must
be obtained and submitted directly to the Huntingdon County Fair. Check the Huntingdon County Fair website for concert schedule and registration details.

Greenwood Furnace Folk Gathering
Greenwood Furnace State Park has become the favorite home for HCAC folk art activities with special focus on Pennsylvania traditions. The Folk Gathering was first held in 2004 as an opportunity to learn from other musicians about Pennsylvania music. The event is known for the relaxed atmosphere in the natural setting of the State Park. Participants and the general public will have the opportunity to hear Simple Gifts as well as other musicians perform in an outdoor setting as well as in the Chapel on Park Grounds.

Rubber Duck Dash
Join the arts council in its annual fun(d)-raiser for arts in education ’Äì an exciting rubber duck race down the Juniata River off Portstown Park in Huntingdon. Assorted rubber ducks will be available prior to the June launch date for purchase as racers or for take home as a souvenir. See our booth during Mayfest on the last Saturday in April in downtown Huntingdon or e-mail the arts council to purchase your chance at winning a super prize package while ensuring continued, special art programs in Huntingdon County schools.
